OVERVIEW

Works with your pickups to achieve optimum gain and resonance.

The Pickup Booster allows you to boost your signal without altering the character of your sound while also allowing you to access different pickup tones with the flip of the Resonance Switch. With its class A, low-noise circuit design, the Pickup Booster is exceptional at emphasizing a guitar's natural tone while adding some muscle and fatness. It's extremely transparent, adds clarity and has several new improvements that build even further on the original's success. The Gain control can now be turned down to unity (0dB). There is also a discrete push-pull output stage that gives you increased drive capability. So even with the Gain knob down at 0dB and a long cable length, your signal chain will sound cleaner.

The Resonance Switch makes the pedal interact directly with your pickups, allowing those with single-coils to flip a switch for a vintage humbucker sound that's perfect for classic rock or blues. With another flip of the switch you can get a high-output humbucker tone for rip roaring solos or for blasting gain out of a tube amp. You can use the Pickup Booster for a clean, buffered boost with more headroom or you can fatten up a humbucker for maximum saturation and sustain.

Clean, buffered boost
This setting will give a transparent boost to your signal to drive the rest of your pedal board with greater signal headroom and no loss of high-end, or use at the end of your pedal chain to drive long cable runs back to your amp.

Fattened Strat
Setting the Resonance Switch to the "1" position will shift the resonant peak of a single-coil pickup down, thickening up your tone. Putting the Gain control up to the 12 o'clock position will let you drive the front-end of the amp for more grit. This setting really lets the intensity of your playing come through, staying clean until you dig in and bring out the sweet harmonics of your amp.

Maximum Beef
This setting, with the Resonance Switch on "2" and the Gain control all the way up, gives a single coil the fatness of a high-output humbucker along with the full push of your amp's preamp stage, resulting in a meaty, saturated tone. Great for beefing up your solos.

Fattened Humbucker
This setting, with the Resonance Switch on "0" and the Gain control all the way up, gives maximum saturation and sustain to a humbucker.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

If I could have only one pedal, this would be it. It is a signal booster, gain booster, and a distortion pedal. It also transforms single coils into humbuckers, and humbuckers into beasts. This pedal does all that I mentioned, and does it well. Buy one, you wont regret it.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is an excellent pedal if you just want to boost the output from your guitar (for solos etc), and not mess with the tone. I use tube amplifiers and obviously using a drive channel this will increase the overdrive and sustain. I personally do not use the tone shaping switch, just leave it on 0. Most pedals change the tone and/or character of the guitar sound in some way, but this just makes it louder. The only down side, it's not that easy to change the battery (4 screws).

Comments about Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have the older model Pickup Booster; the only differences are that the older model starts at 6db of gain and has no push-pull stage. The clean-gain feature simplifies the design (no clipping diodes) and gives most players what they want - a simple signal boost. Many dirt pedal users keep the gain down on the pedal anyway, since pedal distortion plus amp distortion usually equals a horrid mess. I use this (the older version, anyway) to jack up a Deluxe Players Stratocaster with the Vintage Noiseless pickups. The resonance switch works as advertised; it really does make a sc pickup sound more like a 'bucker. This, for me, is a welcome alternative to installing something like the SD JB Jr, then wiring it up to a push-pull volume pot to split the coils so I can get a sc sound back when wanted.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

Excellent product if you're looking for an extra boost on volume and tone. I wouldn't play without it. The pedal has a gain knob for you to fine tune your tone, and you can also switch between a single coil pickup, vintage humbucker, or classic humbucker sound. Great buy and great price. It kills.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Guitar Effects Pedal:

Great clean boost was what I got it for. Best I have ever used. Was pleasantly surprised with the extra switching options for the pickups. I use P-90's. I can definitely hear the difference when switching. My favorite new pedal.
