Not too bright like most low cost condensers.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST151 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I bought 2 of these for 1 or 2 mic hook up for bluegrass. I have also used this for mandolin. The mic is really clean without the thin crispiness of some inexpensive condensers. Really natural and full sounding. First time out of the box I put in front of a soft mandolin player and pushed the gain up in a large crowded and noisy room with monitors, not a problem with feedback at all, but I also use a high end digital board. I was really impressed for the price of this mic.
