M. Dee Stewart, formerly of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Trombone and Euphonium at Indiana University, developed the innovative Stewart Stand. The Stewart Stand attaches directly to the instrument, giving added support and greater ease in holding the instrument. The support peg rests on the chair as you play. Designed by a player for players.

I have not even had this stand for 5 hours and am returning it. It was near impossible to get the straps to place correctly and once I did, they would still slip. The straps could never be placed tight enough. The metal rod would smack against the tuba, and would rest on the tuba during play, creating this wonderful buzzing sound. I purchased this because the original stand I ordered was discontinued, and I figured it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong.
