The TAMA Superstar Classic 5-piece shell pack brings together the brand's acclaimed all-maple shells with contemporary features for today's drummer. Blending vintage tone with modern design, the Superstar Classic aims to deliver rich, warm sound with enhanced resonance and sustain. The thin, 100 percent maple shells offer a balanced tonal spectrum perfect for versatility. With the Star-Mount system's contact points on the batter hoops, the shells ring freely for lively attack and decay.

Signature Thin, All-Maple Shells Provide Warm, Full Tone

At the core of the Superstar Classic sit TAMA's famous maple drums prized for their balanced tonality. The thin shells measuring 5mm and 7mm for toms/snare and bass drums respectively allow the drums to resonate fully and respond quickly. Constructed from quality maple plies, the shells produce warm lows, clean mids and clear, open highs. The all-maple design captures the wood's inherent richness, projecting with depth and body perfect for the stage.

Star-Mount System Enhances Resonance and Sustain

To allow the maple shells to ring out uninhibited, TAMA developed the innovative Star-Mount mounting system. Making contact at four points on the batter hoop, Star-Mount enhances drum resonance and sustain compared to traditional mounts. The eye-bolt mounts slide left and right, enabling close positioning of rack toms without contact. This free resonance and sensitive response make the Superstar Classic come alive. For convenient positioning and angling during performance, the Superstar Classic is outfitted with flexible mounting hardware. The L-arms connect to the bass drum or rack securely while enabling ideal placement of the floor tom and rack toms. With easy adjustment of the clamps and memory locks, you can configure your kit for comfort, playability and visual appeal.

Triple-Flange Hoops Contribute to Open, Ringing Tones

The Superstar Classic comes equipped with TAMA's signature triple-flanged hoops for the toms and snare drum. These hoops allow greater vibration of the drumheads, augmenting the open and breathy tonality of the maple shells. The hoops' flanges also aid in tuning stability and drumhead longevity. Plus, the striking visual design complements the drums' classic vibe.

Lacquer Finishes Applied with Care for Beauty and Protection

Available in a selection of glossy lacquer finishes, the Superstar Classic shells are coated for esthetics and defense against wear. The transparent and sparkle lacquers exhibit the maple's lovely grain while protecting the wood. And as a nod to heritage, the kits feature a classic Big T badge.
