OVERVIEW

This tiny pedal packs a huge explosion of sound.

Perhaps one of the most useful pedals you never knew you needed on your pedal board. At only 1.5 x 3.5³, some may wonder how Throne Room packed so much explosive power into such a tiny little box. They have created a monster that will push any tube amp to the brink of explosion. In fact, this little thing has so much power the first one they built caught on fire. Seriously.

Put this pedal at the end of your chain and you'll get the exact same thing but LOUDER! A lot louder. Earplugs possibly recommended for your neighbors. Perfect for naturally overdriving a tube amp, to stand out in solos, to use as a line driver, or to remedy conservative church sound techs who prefer the electrics a bit too low in the mix - if you know what we mean! Just step on this thing and enjoy about 35dB of an atomic boost however you like!

Throw this nuke before your overdrives or distortions and make them sound like they'll melt at any moment. Also get more clipping tones out of your overdrives and distortions. They may sound like a whole new pedal!

FEATURES
  • 35dB of boost
  • Place it before or after your overdrives and distortions to find the perfect sound
  • Very tiny footprint to save space on your pedal board

Comments about Throne Room Pedals Atom Blaster Guitar Effects Pedal:

I A/B-ed this unit with my no-longer-made Lovepedal Amp50, because they looked so similar except the cosmetics. I couldn't tell them apart, and that's great! These have so much 'character' that I wouldn't say they have much "Clean Boost" in them; most of the knob's range (from 9:00 to about 1:30) renders sweet 'tweed-amp clip' OD without changing your overall volume much at all. The rest of the way is in the 'cranked Deluxe Reverb' zone....That's by itself; this pedal does it's best work (as far as I'm concerned) right after my fuzz and distortion, where I can augment whichever one's on at the time. It highlights the consonant high harmonics in your distort-o-tone, and restores some clarity and sparkle. This review's based, BTW, on a pedalboard in front of a 50watt EL84 Carvin V3M's clean channel, with this pedal after a Noisemaker 3.14 Fuzz, a TRP Revelator distortion (usually set to 'germanium'), and a Fulltone Catalyst. 2 12" open-back Celestion V30s. Used after them, this pedal will make your crummy, cheap dirt-boxes sound good...I tried it after a BOSS SD-1 and it cured it of it's annoyingly ~smooth~, lifeless OD; there was some shine in it! It will make your good drive pedals sound Boutique, and your Boutique pedals sound AMAZING. So, there's that....
I swapped mine out with the Lovepedal Amp50 (since they seem to be twins separated at birth) because this Atom Blaster looks 241% cooler on my rig---yep, I measured. It looks like (and perhaps is) the button you're not going to push unless all efforts at diplomacy fail.
So run this cranked by itself in front of a clean tube amp for serious Texas Tweed, or put it right after any/all dirt pedals for the Last Word in 'lead tone'. That's my report; hope it helps.

Buy this! If you like pushing distortion pedals to snow or want something to put after your favourite overdrive to make it deeper and give it more bass punch, BUY THIS, it will stay out of the box!
