High-resolution desktop recording interface with onboard, realtime plug-in processing.

Apollo Twin reinvents desktop recording by delivering legendary analog studio sound, feel, and flow to music creators everywhere. This 2x6 Thunderbolt audio interface for Mac combines the same impeccable 24/192 kHz audio conversion of Universal Audio's acclaimed Apollo series with onboard Realtime UAD SOLO Processing. So you can record your music in real time (at near-zero latency) through the full range of UAD plug-ins - from Neve, Studer, Manley, Lexicon, API and more (purchased seperately) - putting racks of vintage EQs, compressors, tape machines, reverbs, and guitar amps at your fingertips.

A Universal Audio breakthrough, Apollo Twin's Unison technology gives you the tone of the world's most sought-after tube and solid state mic preamps - including their all-important impedance, gain stage "sweet spots," and component-level circuit behaviors. Based on unprecedented hardware-software integration between Apollo's mic preamps and its onboard UAD plug-in processing, Unison lets you record through stunning emulations like the bundled UA 610-B Tube Preamp plug-in.

Apollo Twin's smart feature set includes two class-leading mic/line preamps, two analog line outputs, two digitally controlled analog monitor outputs for full resolution at all listening levels, and up to eight additional channels of digital input via Optical connection. The Twin's onboard UAD SOLO Processing lets you use UAD plug-ins both during realtime tracking and for mixing within Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Ableton Live and more.

With its ergonomic desktop design, rugged aluminum construction, and front panel headphone and instrument connections, Apollo Twin has all the right tools, all in the right place.

Comments about Universal Audio Apollo Twin SOLO with Realtime UAD Processing:

Never mind the other reviews. The Apollo Twin is perfect portable or destop recording solution. It has UAD DSP Processing, top of the line mic pres, plugin control knob for navigating, beautiful looks, and top quality sturdiness. I own 2 Apollo Duos and the Apollo twin has all the capabilities of Its big brother rackmount unit, with less I/O. The driver and software is real solid. All you have to do is download driver software, activate plugins and you are good to go.The software mixer is designed with easy use in mind. Downloading software is only and issue If you do not have an Internet connection which is require for most audio interfaces on the market. Most of the time the driver software that came with audio interfaces in the past would be outdated anyway and require the downloading of newer version. Apogee, Antelope, Focusrite, Presonus, and many more require that you download the latest version of their software drivers. Now about the ac adapter. The AC adapter has a turn, click, and lock mechanism which you must engage that will lock you AC power adapter into place to prevent accidental disconnecting it from the unit itself. In my book that is a real plus. Finally, UA is always updating their apollo interface software driver with user recommend features which is a real plus. In March UA has schedule a major source ft ware driver update that will allow up to 4 combonations I f Apollo interfaces to be combined for up to 72 I/O using Thunderbolt daisy chained with 4 regular Apollos. The combonations of multiple Apollo twin with multiple regular Apollo. That is 40 I/O with 2 Twins and 2 regular Apollos. I am so happy with my Apollos I am thinking of purchasing a 4th one.
