OVERVIEW

Popular student mouthpiece.

The Standard Series are made out of high-quality phenol resin (plastic) and feature a design based upon the top grade Custom Series. They are extremely consistent in specifications and playing quality, and offer excellent value for their price. The facing of this series is slightly shorter than that of the Custom Series making them easier to play, and easier for beginning students to achieve a rich characteristic saxophone sound. They also are available in a variety of sizes, to suit the needs players of many different styles.

Comments about Yamaha 4C Alto Clarinet Mouthpiece:

I am originally a soprano clarinetist but switched to the flute several years ago. I have always been fascinated by the alto clarinet and recently purchased an old clunker which needed a new mouthpiece. I chose the Yamaha for its price and reputation. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of playing and good tone it produced. My only complaint is that the plastic is a little soft and shows tooth marks after a while. These can be covered and avoided by attaching an adhesive tooth guard to the mouthpiece. I highly recommend this mouthpiece, particularly if its your first outing on the alto clarinet.
