Spectacular orchestral trombone.
Designed with the assistance of top professionals, including Pittsburgh Symphony Principal Trombonist Peter Sullivan, the Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F Attachment Trombone features a .547" bore, fixed gold brass leadpipe, 8-11/16" one-piece hand hammered bell, yellow brass drawn one-piece outer slide, chrome-plated nickel silver drawn inner slide, open F attachment wrap, and lacquer finish.
The Xeno features a heavier gauge brass and a thick-walled, one-piece brazed bell which has been hand-hammered thousands of times for the ultimate in a big orchestral sound. The open-wrap F section gives a free-blowing response and the entire instrument has an evenness and balance you have to experience to believe. The tone is flexible with myriad tonal colors, and gives you both powerful projection at fortissimo and subtle control in the most delicate passages.
A one-piece bell has an axial (lengthwise) seam, making it a continuous extension of the instrument's material. This results in pure, uniform resonance and superior tone. The bell is additionally larger, 8 2/3" in diameter, which in combination with other design improvements produces a singing, colorful open sound with a projecting solid core. Its open wrap F attachment has an open feel and quick response while the F attachment is engaged.
The YSL-8820 also features a narrow slide, which makes it faster, allowing the player to get around the horn easier, and a rounded slide crook. Eliminating sharp turns in the crook opens the feel and response of the instrument. It has an adjustable thumb paddle, a counter balance weight, mechanical rotor linkage, a slide lock, pressure-formed tubing, and a compact contoured case.
If you play it, you'll love it. Order today.

Comments about Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone:
I purchased this trombone about 3 years ago because how it had the trigger on it, which allowed me to go lower in notes without going to 6th or 7th position. I was skeptical in purchasing this item without trying one first and I am glad that I took that risk!! I had more people say how this trombone has the attitude and the tone quality is the best they have ever heard. The mouth piece to go to is the King 4c large shank and boy let me tell you I will not go back to the original mouth piece that comes with the trombone, because its more brighter and more sassier in tone that the original one.

Very nice shopping experience with WWBW. Great inventory of the highest-quality musical instruments. Immediate shipping. The 882O was received in three days undamaged. This will be a life-changing experience for my granddaughter. Sadly, I no longer play...and I never had a horn like the Yamaha back in the day. I checked some other horns in stock at WWBW and their inventory is vast. It's nice to have options.
I would shop here again, if ever need another horn.
Comments about Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone:
I got this horn a couple months ago, and it truly has been getting better the more that I play. I use a Griego CS5 mouthpiece which is stellar for the trombone. A Vincent Bach 5G would work well to also get the full capacity and color of the horn. I would recommend the Rose bell for a darker sound. The yellow bell can err on the side of brightness. Yamaha has shown to provide top quality at good prices.
Comments about Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone:
I bought this horn in June because of its clear toneand ease of playing in the high register. I wanted it for a concerto I played in November but I have enjoyed it so much that I have essentially stopped playing my other two horns, including a Bach 42 which had been my mainstay for orchestra.
Comments about Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone:
I purchased this horn with the Gold Brass Bell in Sept 2010 after 26 years of playing a Yamaha Intermediate level F-Attachment trombone. I had heard wonderful things about Bach, and was dead-set on buying the Bach 42BO. To make a long story short, I played 2 different Bachs, and the Yamaha. I kept coming back to the Xeno. While it as a little heavier, the balance is impeccable, slide movement is unparalleled. Buying the horn was quite an experience, and now that I own the horn, it just keeps getting better. While this horn plays well and "Sings in every Register", I still have one more horn to get for my Jazz playing. It will definitely be a Yamaha!!
Comments about Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone:
The 882O is a wonderful trombone to play on. The slide is impeccable, balance is delightful, and the rotor plays very easily. Big open sound all around, with nice overtones and slotting. The upper register comes out very beautifully. I've owned mine for over 3 years and it's still my favorite tenor of any I've played on.
