Phenomenal tone and world-famous consistency.
The Yamaha YSS-475II is Yamaha’s intermediate soprano saxophone. It is Yamaha’s least expensive soprano, but it has features common to intermediate instruments. The YSS-475II is a quality instrument that combines Yamaha’s production expertise with design aspects of Yamaha professional sopranos. It is known for its fast response and easy intonation. Its ability to slot easily into a pitch, especially in the low register, wins praise from the world’s most exacting soprano specialists.
The YSS-475II features a yellow brass body, neck, bell and key material. Nickel-plated keys and a gold baked-epoxy lacquer finish add to its handsome profile. It also has waterproof leather and wool felt pads with plastic tone boosters. A front F, high F# and drawn tone holes round out the feature set.
Its Bb spatula key facilitates proper technique and increases comfort. A high F# key offers more alternate fingerings along with a true high F#. The YSS-475II’s body taper improves intonation and provides optimal air flow. Its lower vent tube reduces lower vent key noise. Adjustable key guard felts offer optimum venting and intonation. Tapered pivot screws make for smooth key action.
Sopranos can be heavy to hold for extended periods of time, so the YSS-475II features lighter weight construction. Bullet-point headless pivot screws provide easy adjustment. A laser engraving lends an elegance to this fine instrument.
The YAS-475II comes in a slim, lightweight case with backpack straps and a shoulder strap. It includes a quality mouthpiece, ligature and care products.
