Superb trumpet for any player from intermediate to advanced.
The Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is renowned for its exceptional value and outstanding performance. The Bb Xeno trumpet offers musicians highly responsive action and satin-smooth playing.
Yamaha musical instruments are justly famous for their attention to detail, and the Xeno trumpet is no exception. With an ample .459" bore, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno trumpet offers performers low resistance for satisfyingly free blowing. Both the hand-hammered bell and drawn mouthpipe are fashioned in one piece for durability and outstanding tone.
The Xeno is a substantial trumpet with a heavy mouthpiece receiver, 2-piece valve casings, a first valve slide thumb hook, and double main tuning slide braces”just a few of the amenities usually found on more expensive instruments. Maintenance of your Xeno trumpet will be minimal as evidenced by the use of extremely durable Monel alloy for the hand-lapped pistons and slides.
Yamaha Xeno trumpets have earned their place in the world's most prestigious symphonies and among top-level concert band and jazz performers. Yamaha's flagship professional trumpets are heavyweight instruments, made with a metal that has been specially treated to deliver more power, better control, and a richer sound.
The mouthpiece receiver length on the YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet has been upgraded for improved response. All tubing is pressure-formed for perfect roundness that results in smoother air flow and more precise tone. With an annealed 4-7/8" bell, and a gold-brass mouthpiece, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is highly responsive with a dark tone that won't break up with volume.
Yamaha delivers each YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet in its own sturdy case. Like every Yamaha wind instrument, the Xeno Professional Trumpet is covered by a limited 5-year warranty.

When i got this trumpet i was very skeptical coming from a bach strad. I was completely blown away by the nice dark sound and the resistance of the valves that this horn gave me! i have owned mine for about 2 years now and i would not trade this for any other horn. I got this horn my Sophomore year of High school and it has served me well. I would Highly recommend this trumpet to any player looking to go into college or professional.
I purchased this instrument 3 months ago from WWBW. The sound and intonation are like nothing else I have ever played before. I could not have asked for a more superb instrument and I am extremely happy with this trumpet. I am a professional trumpet player in the Dallas area and I highly recommend this instrument for anyone who wants a versitle instrument that will blend well with other instruments in many different settings.
I am a graduating senior in high school and since I'm going off to college, I needed my own personal horn. I was torn between 3 models: A Bach Strad 37, a King Silver Flair and this one. I went into my local music store, and asked to try out the Xeno, and as soon as I stuck my Bach 3c Megatone in, it pumped out a full, dark sound that I never heard out of any Strad. It plays classical and marching music like nothing. When I want that loud sizzling lead jazz sound, it didn't disappoint. Just to be sure, I tried the other two, and they didn't come close to the Xeno. Great Horn
This horn is every bit of what Yamaha claims it to be.As a comeback player in the early stages,I must say that the Xeno has not resticted in any way my humble ability to play.In fact it has exited my mind and warmed my heart more times than I can count.I find that I am having a hard time keeping the horn still while adjusting the somewhat sharp lower C sharp and D - maybe a trigger for the 3rd valve slider would be nice - or is'nt that the done thing these days ? Anyway - any serious player should definitly consider this GREAT horn...
If you want a trumpet that looks like a work of art, that has quality in the construction and materials and makes you sound better than you know how to play it , this trumpet can't be beat. Owning this trumpet will boost your ego and make you play better.
This is without a doubt the best playing trumpet I ever owned, and I've had many. Been playing for 50 years and have had other brands equal pricing, but the tone, range, and all around performance and reliability on this instrument cannot be beat. Had I had this quality when I started playing, I would probably still be using it.
I was looking around at many horns to help me along with my collegiate career and was really after something well-rounded. All I can say is WOW! Great orchestral/legit horn, plays like butter, great resonance and intonation. Then it also acts as a fantastic lead horn for jazz band. The tone really brightens up in the upper register. If you are looking for a horn that you can do anything with. This is it.
my parents bought this horn for me las november, and it has elavated my trumpet skills massively. it took me to 4 IMEA's (2 classical and 2 jazz), and i played it at a couple conference band gigs. it is the most amazing trumpet i have ever played. all i had before was just a student model horn, and now i'll never go back!!!!
I play this in any applicable situation, and fit in. Even though it has the Gold Brass Bell, for me at least, it tends to have a brighter sound. Easy blow, great slotting, and excellent intonation. Great compliment to my YTR8445GS C trumpet, although this comes in at a close second, I like the other horn better. Many people compare this to the Z series trumpet, I have played both. Before I got this, my Bb was a lightweight, I like how they are responsive, but the heavier horns can be bigger, and take the air needed for stuff like Mahler 5. Don't think that because it is a heavy horn that it won't respond, it responds very well for being one of the heaviest conventional trumpets I have played.
I am a recent high school graduate and needed a pro horn as I am now attending millersville university for music education. This horn has been the best investment I could have possibly ever made. The xeno has a beautiful tone in all the registers. Perhaps the best thing about this horn is it's versitality. Not only does this horn have a dark to mellow tone for concert band and orchestra, but when it comes to the brighter jazz stuff this horn can hold it's own. It is a smooth instrument and I really apprecite how free blowing it is especially with the reverse leadpipe. I tried the strad, a Bobby shew and a cannonball which were all great but this horn stood out above the rest. After a whole year of owning the horn, and paying it off, it has been worth every penny.
