"very easy and useful stand"

I purchased this so the shorter middle school students would be able to choose tuba as their instrument. This is very easy to setup and put away. It is also very adjustable and light weight. My 6th grader who is 4'8" tall can now comfortably hold and play her tuba. My 7th grader, who never used a stand and is normal size, tested it out and has much better posture with it and a better sound. Definitely well worth the money.

"Not same as pictured, poor quality"

The stand I received is different than the one pictured above, and is not the same one I remember using a few years ago. It came shipped with the rubber/pad top already broken off (I heard it can fall off later, a common experience), I was able to center it and stick it back together. It makes loud squeaking sounds when resting the tuba on the stand and any movement after. I will have to alter the top in some way to make it silent, no orchestra would be happy with the accompanying sounds. The legs have to go all the way down to lock which is NOT shown in the picture above, so it is in the way of your feet more than other stands. Surprised that WWBW can justify the price for this product when it is inferior material, not the same as pictured model, and came shipped broken. Also surprised by the mis-leading picture.

"Sturdy and versatile"

I play in a quintet at First Church in Wethersfield, CT. We usually play seated, but at Christmas and Easter we perform standing outdoors. I purchased this tuba stand with the extra extension tube, and it is great for both indoor and outdoor settings. Improves posture and breath control, no discomfort from setting the tuba on your lap, and no chance of the instrument slipping off the chair if you set the bow on the seat while playing. Highly recommended.

"Fantastic"

Great stand, been using it for years. I stripped the screw holding the pipe up several times, but it was an easy replacement at my local hardware store. I eventually replaced the tightening handle with a bolt and keep a bolt tightener in my kit to put it together. The rest itself was plastic, so initially I worried about it snapping when I played outside in the cold, but had it for over 6 years now with no problems with the plastic.
