I used this Lyre throughout my career as an Army musician through hundreds of ceremonies and it way outperformed any other type of lyre. The lyre stays in place whereas the more traditional lyres get loose come apart especially if you are doing any sort of precision movements. The kind I first used were metal they are now plastic but are still very sturdy. I would glue the little booties on to make sure they are not lost since they are what protect your bell from scratches. Also I would recommend replacing the rings with either key rings or book rings.
