Dunlop DB-01 Dimebag Cry Baby From HellThe Dunlop DB-01 Dime Cry Baby From Hell is a hot-rodded wah with an extended sweep so you can get more high end with the pedal down or low end with the pedal up. A 5-way selector on the side lets you choose which frequency you want to play with and also features a kick-in boost. LED indicators inform you of status, even on darkened stages. An extra input on the left lets you go in and out on the same side. Controls include an adjustable volume boost (0 to +17dB). An adjustable Q control modulates frequency breadth and a fine tune knob lets you adjust the toe down sweep range. It sounds badass and with camo graphics, it looks badass.

I've tried multiple Voxes, other Cry Baby pedals, Dunlop, and then I met this one. The Dime Wah was the best wah I found, with all the versatility and controls I need for wah effects.
The best unadvertised feature of this device is its stability. You set it down and it stays put. Get your foot on it only half-way and you can still maintain control. There?s a lot of sweep in this pedal which makes it a very versatile addition to any rig. Took me about a week just to get a feel for where I wanted to be. The boost button is a great feature if you go back and forth between rhythm and lead. A simple slap of the foot and you?re there. I haven?t messed around much with the frequency knob. Get an AC adapter when you go for this purchase because once you start playing with it you?ll keep it on all the time. I went with a Signal Flex 5 port adapter. Way cheaper than Dunlop?s brick and there?s no wall wart to deal with. Your mileage may vary ... the ECB-003 carries a very reasonable price tag.
i bought this about 8 months ago, and havent looked back. i use this on, all the time with boost running thru a DD-11 and KFK 10 band equaliser. man, i get awesome tone (esp with stereo amps), and this pedal is key. The boost really thickens your sound, and with teh wah engaged, it adds some extra treble, which sounds cool, even on riffs. I have the pedal set up so that i can push it up to play rythm and plaster it down for solo work, man its great. I get a healthy bassy tone for riffage ala Dime or Crowbar, and a well "dime" tone for my solos, great with some hefty reverb. Not only does this pedal offer so much degree of versatility, but its built like a tank, man, ive bashed this many a time, and it hasnt even chinked the paint. The only thing is, which kit like this that costs, dont run it through some ?40 10W amp, it just doesnt improve it. run this through a good amp, with some good kit and it owns.
Yesterday I bought this monster. I'd played on pretty much all but the signature Crybabies before... all were sweet, but didn't have the versatility I had gotten used to in my Dano-wah. The first reason I went with a Cry Baby was because of the all-metal casing. I'm not abusive to my pedals, by any means, but through normal playing things will be kicked around, cords will be yanked in every direction... The wah I had before shorted out the power jack with the first good yank. That brings me to my next important feature... true, hard-wired, bypass. When I turn my pedal off, it's actually off... not running on low. Finally... the customization... 6 different ranges of wah that are easy to click through. If that's not enough, you have the option/ability to adjust the Q and tone, to get that wah sound you only dream of. Also, being able to adjust how much gain I get from the gain switch is a must... the wah I was using only had quiet and loud, while this one hits every notch between. I can already tell I'll be using this one longer, and more frequently, than the other knock-off I was using before. If you're going to buy a wah pedal, don't settle for crap. Buy a Cry Baby, 'cause that's what you grew up hearing anyway.
This wah pedal is the best wah I have ever used. With the volume boost it is perfect for solos. All of its capabilities make it so much better. .
I am by no means a metal player but I was looking for a new wah and tried all of the voxes and the cry baby's and this is the one i got.....the flexibility of it is amazing any sound you want from a wah pedal...the vocal sounds of Warren Haynes to the cutting solos of Zakk Wylde this pedal has it... the only reasons I gave it 4 stars is I?m not particular to camouflage (which really means nothing) and its not a plug and play pedal I?ve spent hours tweaking it to get it to sounds just like I wanted it to....if you just want a wah to plug in and rock back and forth get a standard cry baby classic but if you want to sculpt the wah sound of your dreams buy this wah pedal now.
