Mid-Bag Suspension System reduces the risk of dings or dents.
Gard Bags have long been a favorite among musicians at all levels needing quality protection at a reasonable price. The Mid-Bag Suspension series builds upon this popularity. In ordinary bags, the music instrument rests on the bottom of the bag. If dropped, the protruding parts are likely to dent. Using strategically placed blocks of padding the Mid-Bag Suspension series "suspends" your instrument away from the sides. Further stabilizing the instrument is a dense foam cone mounted on a hard disc on the inside of the bag. This suspension system reduces the risk of dings or dents if the bag knocks into a wall or is dropped from a short distance. Like all Gard Bags, the Mid-Bag Suspension series features a water resistant nylon or buffalo leather exterior, rugged zippers, soft interior flap to protect the instrument from the zipper, shoulder strap, and backpack straps.
EM Series bags feature a dual zipper design with the zippers face the ground.
AM Series bags feature a single zipper design with the zipper facing the handle.

Comments about Gard Mid-Suspension EM Alto Saxophone Gig Bag:
I am making my first trip with my horn wanted a backpack with the hope I can carry it on the plane. This case is very snug and holds the horn away from the edges of the bag as described, tho with no room to spare for cleaning tools, etc. The padded external side pockets hold a reed case, but not much else. I really like that the zipper pulls have big tabs. Initially, the back straps didn't seem to attach right, but when I put it on my back, turned out to be perfectly ergonomic. Since I haven't made the trip yet, I hope the 5-star rating travels with me.
