Description
The classic wow-wow mute.

Harmon B Model Aluminum Trumpet Wow-Wow Mute
The Harmon B Model Aluminum Trumpet Wow-Wow is a favorite effects mute. The "wah-wah" sound is made by a sliding cup in the end of the mute. Famous musicians have used and endorsed Harmon mutes for over 25 years. Made entirely of aluminum, the Harmon B Model is free-blowing and does not alter or change the pitch in any way.

"The Original and still the best"

I think that Harmon is the original and still the best there is. Harmon produces a smooth and rich sound. All the way. But to whomever is looking at these reviews, do not pay attention to the people who say that they couldn't keep it in. You are supposted to breathe warm air into your bell and give the mute a good twist and I can assure you that it wont fall out.

"not the best"

bad choice for a Bach 180s72. Won't stay put in my new 180s72 but is fine in my Bach 18043 from 1971, French Besson/Kanstul 92BA, Getzen Eterna Cornet and others I have. Guess the larger bell taper of the 72 just doesn't "fit". Some work on the cork helped a bit but not enough to trust for a concert. Bought a new JoRal bubble mute and it stays put and sounds better. Plus the JoRal plays more in tune.

this mute is a classic mute. i bought it in november and i have loved it ever since.i like to experiment with the stem in having it in or out and putting my hand over it sort of like a plunger for my improv soloing.everyday i cant wait to use it. i would strongly recommend it to anybody looking to buy one of their own. i promise you will love it.

"Great Mute!"

I am reviewing this as an aspiring musician and as a student. From my point of view, the mute is great! The tone is just awesome and it very easy to play, and it doesnt affect my range at all. I found it stays in my Olds trumpet quite well as long as I blow warm air into the bell and twist it in. A great buy for your money!

"Greatest mute I have ever used"

I've had this mute for about a year, but just performed with it for the first time, about three weeks in a Jazz Band tour that went around to local elementary schools for a day, and again two weeks later during our concert. It has a very interesting/ distinctive sound with or without the stem (though I prefer it without the stem.) After the concert, many people complimented me on my solo and use of the mute (some even said I had the second best solo (our first Tenor Sax player had the best, mainly because Jazz is literally his entire life)) It's the best mute I have ever used, and now I use it in about 75% of my Jazz Solos. I highly suggest getting this mute if you are serious about playing Jazz.
