Compared to the benchmark Schilke P5-4, I believe the Kanstul CCT 920 to be as close as you can get. And for a working musician (read: no endorsements), this picc is even more attractive. At around 1/3 less than the Schilke, Yamaha YTR-9835, or Stomvi, (and the Kanstul Ziggy model) it is the best buy of the lot. And for my abilities, it is on par with the Schilke and better than the others. Why?... Intonation and tone. It is hard enough to play the picc, and this is where the Kanstul separated itself from the others in my head-to-head playing tests.
I recommend you try this one before buying. You may be pleasantly suprised.
I have owned several pics over my 30+ year career
as a pro and more recently as a college professor. This horn is in my arsenal of weapons because it meets any solo classical, quintet or symphony demands when considering critical sound quality and intonation. It compares well to any pics on the market and the price is realistic for serious students as well. It also records well in the studio on a variety of styles.
