The ultimate experience in jazz and orchestral playing.
The Kolstein Heritage Orchestral / Jazz Bass Strings offer the player the best in jazz quality playing that does not roll under the bow. This multi-stranded Perlon synthetic core string offers the feel and tension of gut strings, but emulates the best arco and pizzicato tonal qualities of the finest steel orchestral or jazz strings. Designed by Barrie Kolstein and manufactured in the United States, the Heritage series can stand up under the most demanding bowing requirements. The Heritage Orchestral / Jazz Bass Strings are available in a set or as individual strings. Endorsed By Charnett Moffett, Phil Palombi, and Nilson Matta.

Comments about Kolstein Heritage Orchestral / Jazz Bass Strings:
These strings are by far the warmest, easiest playing strings I have used in over 40 years of playing. I started in the days of gut strings, and these have the warmth and tone of gut. However, they are stable and unlike gut, very easy to bow. For jazz they are great. I have compared them to both Obligato and Eva Pirazza. The Ogligato roll with the bow and the Eva Pirazza have a nice punch on pizzicatto but don't have the warm gut like pizzicatto. They are very reasonably priced, how they are so inexpensive I do not know. Kolstein has the reputation of only having the best quality products and they command a premium price, generally well worth it. These are priced significantly less than other synthetic pizz and great bowing strings.
