I liked this reed, but I found out that they come soft compared to vandoren. They run about a half size too soft, so buy accordingly. Also, these reeds are smaller compared to others, as it length and width. kind of similar to the Vandoren white masters without the extra hardness.
I have played on a number of reeds over the ears, and I have come to like the Mitchell Lurie premium line. It is consistently good and helps me to produce a nice, warm tone. One of the best features is that it does not have so significant a variation in quality and strength from reed to reed n the same box, unlike certain well known and popular reeds. When I get a box of these reeds, I know I am going to have a very high percentage of playable reeds!
I tried these for the first time about a week ago, and I'm really impressed! Some of the reeds need just a little bit of work, but I got just about every one to play. They are a hassle-free reed, and they give me a nice sound.
I love these reeds. As other people have said, they are quite soft. They do after about a week and half till two weeks, wear out. the tone begins to kindof sharpen and it's really hard to keep in tune. But they are at a good price and i find that i have a better chance of getting more playable reeds out of the box. a tip for all you new clarinet players, try different brands till you find the one that works best for you.
These are very good reeds for the price, but as a reviewer said before me, they are very soft. Also, these reeds warp very easily and only last about 1 week before the tone turns very bright and makes my clarinet very hard to play in tune..
