A great value for an eco-friendly guitar!

The Seagull Coastline Spruce is a dreadnought acoustic guitar that features back and sides made from a 3-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. Seagull Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple. Seagull Coastline Series guitars represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars.

Comments about Seagull Coastline Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I'm basing this on my guitar, which is the old "S6+Spruce" model- this is the updated version. Seagull jams a lot of value into their guitars. The solid spruce top is nicely bookmatched and well done. The back/sides are a wild cherry laminate with a mahogany stain. Looks good, and Seagull uses a high quality laminate. The maple neck is rock solid, and the rosewood fretboard is... a rosewood fretboard, but the frets and the finish are done very well. The sound is nicely balanced, but the bass end doesn't have that booming Martin sound, this guitar holds its own in a parkin' lot pickin' session. Kind of a mellow, slightly trebly tone. Satin finish means be careful! The top scratches easily, but it's worth it for the nice tone. After about 7 years, mine sounds better than ever. Mine came needing a setup, but that's nothing unusual. You can buy a cheaper guitar, but I think this one is worth the few extra bucks it costs. Durable, pretty, nice sounding and NOT MADE IN THE ORIENT!!! Huzzah! A winner.
