I played the contra alto clarinet since 6th grade. I had to play a bass clarinet because at the time my school did not have a working contra. Near the second semester, I was able to play contra. Now I've been playing contra for about 4 years. I made all district band two times in a row so far. But, I have to march tenor/bari saxophone and play tenor for jazz band. But to tell the truth, everyone loves the low pitches that the contra can make. You can feel the whole room around you vibrate by the power of the lower notes.
