OVERVIEW

Long taper for great control and clarity during soft playing.

Vic Firth Ted Atkatz Concert Snare Drum Sticks are part of the Symphonic Signature Series offering products from the brightest talents in symphonic music. Ted Atkatz, Principal Percussionist and Assistant Timpanist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Tim Genis, Principal Timpanist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, shared their expertise in the development of these concert snare sticks. Wood tip. L = 17", dia. = .660.

Made from persimmon wood, known for it's density, durability and high impact resistance. These sticks produce a full-bodied and slightly darker sound than other wood. The density also gives added power, allowing the player to avoid overplaying.

Almost as good as the Tim Genis models...

Comments about Vic Firth Ted Atkatz Concert Snare Stick:

These have a long sloping taper, but the neck doesn't get as thin as the Tim Genis models, so you have to work a little harder for diddle at low dynamics. The Atkatz sticks are also a little less front weighted. The weight distribution and balance is great if you want something lighter on the front end of the stick.
