Choose from the folowing Yamaha Warranties:
i didnt know much about tone when i was bought this mouthpiece, now knowing more i can say that this mouthpiece is a useful key for opening up the altissimo range. However, the throat noes will not be satisfied by this mouthpiece, there is a stream of air/white noise which is very hard to eradicate without the use of alternate fingerings. The price is a good indication of how far it can help you.
Dug this out of my box of MPs ... out of frustration with several of my "professional" MPs ... the 4C is really not bad at all ... using V-12 #3/Rovner/Scott Barrel/Buffet R13. Nice easy response and intonation is OK with a good core and center to tone. This is obviously a molded hard ebonite type material with no extra hand applied work and the facing is done on a machine. Seems like the design is very solid, only the material and construction is possibly compromised. I am playing the 4C on a community band concert in a few days. I would like to find similar design with the professional touches, although any "improvements" are always subjective. If you are secure as a player, your MP "setup" shouldn't matter ... it's whatever works for you!
I bought this after my (really, really expensive) mouthpeice was chipped at the top due to marching band. My old was still playable, but very airy. This was probably the cheapest and nicest mouthpeice for its price. I play it with my rovner ligiture, and it sounds great. It does not sound as warm with a metal cheap ligiture. I would suggest this to anyone for marching band, as it also makes me sound louder. If you are clutz like me, and need a cheap mouthpeice, this would probably be the one for you.
I bought this cause my old mouthpiece broke in a marching accident and my level 4 reed could not be played on this. Its good for beginners but thats it...
