I have been using the Yamaha 14A4AGP trumpet mouthpiece for quite a few years. It is by far the best playing mouthpiece I have ever used. The tone quality, range, and flexibility with this mouthpiece are all really fine!
I just purchased this mouthpiece and let me say - it plays better than it looks, and it's the best lookin mouthpiece I've seen. The gold feels smooth and warm. Before this, I played a bach 3c and a regent 2. On both, my lower playing sounded fuzzy and terrible. I picked this up and was playing incredibly smooth. This mouthpiece offers a warm dark tone, and my range has improved from it. I went from a double g to a double c - and this is all in tune.
I played on blessing 3c was a little big and had endurance and my range was only to a high d clean but i decided to get this mouthpiece and with pratice lip slurs etc i can hit double gs and endurance went over 30 min longer. The mouthpiece doesnt do it magically but if you put in some pratice time It can really make a differnce
Well i used to play trumpet however i converted to french horn. i decided to play trumpet in jazz band because i thought it would be fun, but it actually wasn't. my lips were so used to a french horn mouthpiece and my lips wouldn't respond in a bach 7c very well. My friend had this mouthpiece as a spare and let me use. It was not only comfortable but it gave me a much more resonant and clear sound. so this mouthpiece is legitimately something to look into. I highly recommend it
I have two of these mouthpieces 14B4 & 16C4. I have played the trumpet for 54 years and have quite a collection of mouthpieces. These Yamaha mouthpieces fit the leadpipe perfectly with absolutely no wobble assuring no leakage. I have had wobble with several others including Schilke. Kudos to Yamaha. I also have a Yamaha motorcycle and it is perfect also.
