Choose from the folowing Yamaha Warranties:
I use this mouthpiece for marching band and jazz band. It has good control in the middle C to high D or so and doesn't have any problems in the lower register. I like the tone quality, and it works well for Junior High lead or High School 3rd/4th trumpet player. A friend of mine uses the same mouthpiece, and has not liked the bite of the rim, but I don't have a problem with it. Overall, it's not the best for screaming high notes or super bright tone, but very good mouthpiece.
I started playing Trumpet on this exact kind of mouthpeice, and it has worked really well. It works for getting some of the higher notes along with some of the lower ones. I haven't played Trumpet for long, but this is a good mouthpeice for starting out playing Trumpet on.
I learned to play on a Blessing 7c and eventually worked up to a Schilke 16c4. I then borrowed the 11B4 from my friend and loved it. I had forgotten my normal one, so I borrowed this before our show. I had always had trouble just finished second trumpet music with it in our show, but after switching I not only mixed in some first trumpet music, but I have plenty of chops left to play later. Over all, those who like a slightly shallower cup and a thicker rim will greatly enjoy this mouthpiece. My range has increase and I can play high F above the scale and can sometimes squeak out a G. Great mouthpiece and I hope to play on in for a while.
I purchased the Yamaha 5A4 mouthpiece, weeks ago. And to tell you the truth this mouthpiece is a great lead piece! The only issue is the rim is pretty narrow, and it kind of hurts my lips. But other than that it?s a phenomenal mouthpiece! I would recommend to the player that always plays lead!
Yamaha makes solid products in general. Their trumpets are well constructed and are very consistent, though I use Bach horns. This quality extends to their mouthpieces.
Yamaha offers a very large selection of mouthpieces in many rim sizes.
One great thing about Yamaha mouthpieces that I never hear talked about is their plating. In my opinion, Yamaha simply has the best, most durable plating in the industry. Bach mouthpieces tend to tarnish much faster and more severely than Yamahas.
My two 16C4s serve me well. One is stock and the other is drilled out to a 24 throat for C trumpet. Both give me a resonant, brilliant characteristic trumpet sound. The 16C4 is listed as equivalent to a 1.5C, but for me the Yamaha sounds better and I prefer its rim contour; my articulations feel more secure. My 14A4a has the perfect sound for jazz lead, also.
For a lot of people, a Yamaha serves your needs perfectly, at an unbeatable price. Just make sure you pick the right size for you! And if Yamaha doesn't have something that suits you, there's plenty of other great mouthpiece makers out there.
