Comments about Yamaha YFL-462 Intermediate Flute:
I played the flute and piccolo when I was younger but had not played seriously in about 30 years. I decided recently that I wanted to work my chops back up, just to see what would happen. I decided to purchase a Yamaha, since that was the model I grew up playing. I opted to upgrade to a 400-level instrument from the 300-level I played as a teenager. I have been completely overwhelmed at how quickly my skills are returning. I still have a lot of practicing to do, but this flute has made me want to practice some every day. The sound is deep, rich, and not nearly as airy as I expected after going so long without playing. The flute plays smoothly and effortlessly. It is classified as an intermediate flute, but it sounds no different than the Yamaha professional models I have tried before. Without a doubt, I would recommend the YFL-462 to anyone wanting an upper level intermediate flute with a beautiful, responsive sound.
