Worst Reed I have ever played

Comments about Bari Star Bass Clarinet Reed:

These reeds are loud, out of control, and it is nearly impossible to create a good sound with them. If your doubling and don't want a cane reed, DO NOT get a Bari Brand reed. I have tried these reeds on Clarinet and Saxophone and they are equally as bad. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Excellent reeds for doublers!!

Comments about Bari Star Bass Clarinet Reed:

I have used these reeds since 2006, are they are fantastic for the bass clarinet. I at first used cane reeds, which were all so short-lived. My next venture was fibracell reeds, and a lot of the problem with those reeds is there is no fine adjustment to them. Bari synthetic reeds can be sanded, clipped and endures any adjustment you would see fit. They are extremely sturdy reeds and will not crack or chip. As to the overall tone, I felt an incredible improvement from cane and even fibracell reeds. The material is consistent throughout the entire reed, which will set you up for the best sound possible. My sound darkened and became very round. I even use them in performances. They are easier to manage when you are a doubler and don't have the time to adjust cane reeds. My only wish is that Bari would make contra clarinet reeds!!
