"Beautiful full sound, great intonation, very lightweight"

The surprisingly lightweight composition of this mute is amazing, considering the beautiful, full sound that it produces. The weight makes quick mute changes very easy, and there is less of a chance that it falls out due to an improper seal when you slap it in the horn quickly. Intonation is impeccable in all registers, and it speaks clearly, even in the very bottom end of the horn's range.

I purchased a Jo-Ral bubble style mute several months ago and it is the best sounding Harmon style mute I have ever used. It has perfect intonation. It even sounds even better when you get a few small dents on the body of mute. It fits my trumpet perfect. It is very well constructed. I highly recommend this mute.

"Good Mute, Easily Dented"

I bought one of these not too long ago. It is a very good mute, as all the previous reviews said. Unfortunately, it is very prone to denting. I would suggest a well padded mute bag, if you are clumsy like me. While I haven't tested it with a tuner, the 5+ dents in mine do not seem to effect the intonation. That said, I have acquired these dents within about three months of buying the mute. I can account for two of the dents, but the others were cases were I had it in a bag in which I did not think it would be a problem, yet it was dented when I took it out. The harmon shape seems less liable to denting, but I love the sound of this one, so I will continue to use it.

the old Leblanc Alessi Vacchiano was really starting to show it's age. Though it still stayes put in any of my horns I decided to buy a new Harman brand mute. Absolutely won't stay put in my new Bach 180S72 though stays reasonably well in my 1971 model 43. Some work on the cork helped but not enough for me to trust it for next weeks concert. Bought a JoRal bubble mute and it's much better. Practiced for over an hour with it and it never fell out. Sounds better too than either of the other ones...and better in tune.
