As a trombonist of thirty years, and principal trombone in a medium sized orchestra, I have used the Jupiter 536L for the past ten years. It is by far the best instrument I have used....and I have used many other popular brands, in the past. Great quality slide, good tone quality is effortless to produce. I'm very impressed with Jupiter and would suggest the brand to anyone.
This is by far the best trombone I've ever played. Jupiter is a great brand and this trombone is at the top of their best instrument list. It gives a very characteristic sound and is easy to skip octaves on. It is also a very beautiful instrument. This trombone is an excellent choice of horn for both beginner and experienced tromboninsts. Two thumbs up!!!
This horn has been great! It has a very warm tone and has a great ease of registers. Being a closed wrapped horn, it takes a ton of air when using the F-attachment, but once accomplished the tone is great even then. The medium bore of this horn makes it difficult to get pedal tones to speak. The plating and the lacquer is holding up well under the stresses of much use. Overall it is an excellent horn and hasn't given me any problems. It has a rich, warm, luscious tone that will fill any concert hall or playing field; and is at a bargain price!
I had just entered my 8th Grade year, and I had used the same Bach TB 300. It was a good trombone, but I wanted the experience of having an F-Attachment Trombone. I went to the annual University of Georgia Midfest (where band students from all across the state of Georgia come together to play music) and stood in the audition line for chair placement. I was struck with envy as I watched other kids warm up on their trombone...with F-Attachments. I was a little embarrassed have a regular, beginning trombone, but thankfully it did not hold me back from getting 2nd chair in one of the bands :). I started to talk to my parents about getting a Trombone with an F-Attachment. I was originally going to get a Bach with an F-Attachment. When I first got it, I was elated. I played one note on it, and it sounded terrific. This trombone has great tone quality. The case was a bit lackluster though. There was no compartment for the accessories though. If you have a lot of accessories, shaking the case too much may cause them to move around the inside and bump into parts of the bell. I have not had any problems so far. The F-Attachment is a "modified open wrap" but it still takes a lot of air to hit really low notes. Overall it's a great step-up instrument for kids like me, who have been using a straight, attachmentless, trombone like me, and want to get a chance to use an F-Attachment. It's also good for events like Honor Band and All-State. I can't wait to use this for my Honor Band auditions! 1st Chair here I come!
