Woodwind & Brasswind Partners with DonorsChoose.org to Benefit Music Education in Public Schools
Retailer helped fund crowd sourced projects during Music in Our Schools Month, bringing music to more than 10,000 students
Frederick, MD (April 27, 2014) – Woodwind & Brasswind, the world’s premier band and orchestra authority, today announced that during the month of March 2014 the retailer helped to fund music projects reaching more than 7,000 students through DonorsChoose.org.
Since 2007, Woodwind & Brasswind has been working with DonorsChoose.org, an online website that supports projects in public schools through crowdfunding. To date, the partnership has resulted in Woodwind & Brasswind's participation in supplying nearly $1.5 million in musical equipment to public school programs. From providing wireless microphones and headsets for a spring musical, to supplying reeds for students’ instruments, these projects posted by educators allow them to experience first-hand the tremendous impact that these dollars have on their students.
